SEO Blog Writer

Intro

In 2017, Jan Sapper, Paperlike's founder and CEO, developed and launched a screen protector for the iPad that became an instant hit with digital artists and notetakers.

Since then, we've come a long way.

Today, we sell professional accessories for iPad users worldwide through our Shopify store, Amazon, and retail stores. We've built a global team (27 amazing people from all over the world) and a brand that is well-respected in our community.

And that's where you come in. We’re looking for 1–2 senior SEO writers for a 3‑month, fixed‑term contract to help us ship high‑impact, human-centered blog articles that increase qualified organic traffic to Paperlike.com.

About this Role

You’ll write 2-4 long-form blog posts per month (1,500–2,000 words). You’ll receive clear briefs (topic, intent, angle, target query set, internal links, and acceptance criteria), then own the work end-to-end: research, outlining, writing, and on-page optimization.

This is a delivery-focused contract role. We’re not looking for someone to “learn on the job”, we’re looking for someone who can ship strong drafts on deadline, every time.

Note: Not all of our blogs have been SEO-optimized. It’s a work in progress. So don’t set your standards according to what you read there 🙂

What will you do as Paperlike's SEO Blog Writer?

SEO Content Writing

  • Write 2-4 long-form posts per month (1,500–2,000 words), optimized for priority SERPs
  • Create outlines that match search intent and guide readers toward clear takeaways and next steps
  • Write persuasive, conversion-aware content (we’re here to help people choose the right “thinking surface,” not just provide information)
  • Optimize every piece for SEO fundamentals (search intent match, structure, headings, internal linking, and on-page best practices) and for modern search experiences (e.g., Google AI Overviews / AI-assisted discovery)
  • Incorporate feedback quickly and deliver a clean final version ready to publish

Quality & Delivery

  • Hit deadlines consistently and communicate early if something blocks delivery
  • Maintain a high bar for clarity, flow, and “human” writing (no fluff, no keyword-stuffing)
  • Follow our style guidelines, brand voice, and content checklist

This role is for you if:

  • You deliver to deadlines every time
  • You know how to persuade, not just educate (and you can do it without being sales-y)
  • You care about the reader’s experience and perception: clarity, trust, and momentum
  • You write compelling, human-centered content that’s always optimized for SEO (and holds up in AI-assisted search environments)
  • You can take a brief and run with it — research, outline, draft, polish — with minimal hand-holding.
  • You have strong editorial judgment: you know what to cut, what to emphasize, and how to keep a piece moving.

Who will you work with?

  • Serena (Growth Lead), who will provide topic priorities, briefs, and final review.
  • Eliza (Head of Growth / Ops), who oversees growth and project management for the marketing team.
  • You may occasionally collaborate with others across growth/content/marketing for context, internal links, and distribution.

Money, Time & Position Type

  • Fully remote
  • Fixed-term contract: 3 months (starting ASAP)
  • Volume: 2-4 articles/month (1,500–2,000 words each)
  • Rate: €400 per 2,000‑word article (pro-rated for shorter pieces when applicable)

The hiring process

  • We’ll review applications on a rolling basis. We’d like to hire quickly for this contract.
  • Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a brief interview and then complete a short paid writing test based on a real brief.
  • If it’s a fit, you’ll start the 3‑month contract ASAP.

The Company

Jan founded Paperlike in 2017 as a side project to solve his own need for a better iPad and Apple Pencil experience. Since he loves crowdfunding, he launched a Kickstarter for the Paperlike and was blown away by the response. He soon left his job and made Paperlike a full-time endeavor.

Jan grew the business quickly with minimal outside help, using a laser focus and tons of automation, before bringing in additional help to continue scaling.

Now in 2026, we're a team of about 27 people. However, at our core, we still operate the same. We relentlessly focus on the things that matter and automate whatever we can to free our time and minds.

Our team is 100% remote and is spread all over the world — from New York to Turkey, from Germany to China.

Our Core Values

🐣 Small Giant

Paperlike is a small giant. We strive to be the best in our niche but are comfortable not reaching for the stars. We look for healthy growth with as few people as possible. We're thrifty, not cheap. We leverage technology to achieve our goals wherever possible.

👑 Ownership

We take ownership of the role we have and think like an entrepreneur. That means taking responsibility, self-organizing, and operating with a "get shit done" attitude. We are brave and take risks.

We own issues and handle them.

👩‍⚖️ Honorable & Human

We are honest and vulnerable and are proud of a safe work environment where everyone can be themselves. We care about mental health. We run a strict no-asshole policy. We're honorable. Our word and handshake count, and we put our action where our mouth is.

We treat customers and partners as people, not numbers.

💎 Growth Mindset

We strive to be content, but we're never satisfied.

We want to be the best in class. Continuous learning, and being on top of trends is ingrained in our DNA. Bringing learnings into action is key. We use our creativity to solve complex situations and don't rely on standards.
